With the holidays right around the corner, a lot of people still have some serious shopping to do. Coming from a Jewish family, we never celebrated Christmas nor did we make a big deal of Chanukah and getting presents. For some reason, people assume because Chanukah is always around Christmas, that it’s a huge holiday but in all reality, it’s nothing major. Our big holiday season is at the end of September/early October when we celebrate Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, also known as the High Holidays. But okay, we’re getting off track here.
Regardless of religion, giving (and receiving!) a great gift is always fun and appreciated so I thought I would give you a few ideas of things to buy for yourself… I mean your significant other! Check it out below.
Makeup Bag: So I found this gem probably about year or so ago and it is honestly one of my favorite items I own. It’s perfect to keep in your bathroom for everyday use and super easy to throw in your suitcase for a getaway. It’s darling gold stripes make it that much more fun during the holiday season and I can guarantee you or your girlfriend would absolutely love it. I ended up getting it for one of my friends for her birthday and she uses it everyday and always travels with it. My other friend asked me where I had bought it from and turned around and bought it herself! It’s legit, trust me, get it now.
Candles: To be honest, my absolutely favorite scent for a candle is pink grapefruit and I am just a total sucker for it. Someone once asked me what the scent was of regular grapefruit vs pink grapefruit and I realized there is no difference, so I have no clue why pink is always associated to it! Regardless, I still only will call this scent pink grapefruit. Anywaysssss, having a delicious smelling candle is one of my favorite items to own and burn regularly. I have both the small size and larger size and of course the matching soap/lotion dispenser, yes, I am that OBSESSED.
When it comes to stemware, I am a total sucker for Waterford Crystal. And it doesn’t even have to just be stemware, it can be their vases, punch bowls, or picture frames, I just LOVE Waterford crystal. I decided to put this Waterford Wine Decanter on our wedding registry list and Tom’s best bud ended up getting it for us. I was so surprised and excited and it continues to be one of my favorite items in our home. Anyways, I always think a great gift to give is either a set of wine or whiskey glasses and fortunately Waterford makes a great set of each.
To start, their wine glasses/goblets are absolutely stunning. My favorite style from Waterford is the Lismore Collection so everything I have is from that specific group. The glasses are quite tall and pretty heavy, definitely a very sturdy glass. You can buy them as a set of 2 or get them in a case of 6 to get them for a little cheaper. Macy’s can sometimes have some great deals on the case so I highly recommend checking them out there! I ended up getting a case from there for a killer price and it was one of the best purchases. I probably should keep them out on display more but I am super protective of them and keep them in their box so nothing happens to them!
Now let me just say, their Lismore whiskey glasses aren’t too shabby either. I surprised Tom with them for I think for his birthday last year and he was so so excited. He had seen them at a friend’s house a few years prior and had yet to stop talking about those glasses so I knew it would be a perfect gift. Again, you can get them in a set of 2, but of course it’s always more fun with a set of 6!
My last but certainly not least idea is a onesie! My mom was a big fan of putting me in feet pajamas and onesies growing up and I still have a love for them as an adult. It helps that onesies are super in style right now so when I came across a style where I could represent my alma mater, The University of Arizona, I was stoked. The company I bought this from is called Tipsy Elves and it was featured on the show Shark Tank a few seasons back. I have to say, they took this company to a level I cannot even imagine and I love being a supporter of their growth. They originally started off with just ugly sweaters and have really turned the brand into so much more. It’s awesome that they now represent so many colleges so definitely check to see if they have your school on some of their items, if not, you can’t go wrong with any of their other apparel. This is absolutely perfect for a cozy night in cuddled up next to the fire during this holiday season.
So there are a few ideas for holiday gifts or really anytime gifts! I would love any other suggestions any of you may have to share 🙂
